PPA Professional certificate results

by on 26 Oct, 2012

Great to see students of the University of East London (UEL) get their award of the Professional Publishers’ Association (PPA) Professional Certificate in Journalism.  They worked hard in their final third year to win it.  Three distinctions, one merit and a pass were good results for them.

Even better, the PPA and UEL have agreed to run the same scheme next spring.  Students in their final year at UEL can take the highest level of the PPA’s certification for a reduced price.

This shows how the academic world can work with the professional world to boost the employability of graduates.  That’s a central issue in the university world now with job markets so tight, especially in journalism.

UEL is the only university to offer the Professional Certificate in parallel with a degree course. I was “right chuffed”, as they say, to see them get their awards.
